Biography
During the 2023-2024 season, James Siarris was a resident artist with Tri-Cities Opera in Binghamton, New York. While there, he performed the role of Fiorello and covered the role of Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia. He also took on the role of Matt in The Fantasticks. Additionally, James portrayed The Moon Dog in the children's opera Papagayo, which was performed throughout Upstate New York.
In the summer of 2023, James Siarris was a resident artist with Opera North in Lebanon, New Hampshire. There, he performed the role of Dancaïro and covered the role of Escamillo in Carmen.
In 2022, James Siarris showcased his talent in several competitions. He was a finalist in The Heafner Williams Vocal Competition in Lincolnton, North Carolina, and won first place in the Greek Women’s University Club National Music Competition in Chicago, Illinois. That same year, James joined the Spoleto Festival as a Vocal Fellow, where he performed in various choral concerts, including Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and the opera chorus in La Bohème. Additionally, he was a Young Artist with Red River Lyric Opera in Wichita Falls, Texas, where he performed the title role in Sweeney Todd.
Some of James Siarris' favorite roles include Don Giovanni in Don Giovanni, Sid in Albert Herring, Il Conte in Le Nozze di Figaro, Dandini in La Cenerentola, and Giuseppe Palmieri in The Gondoliers, among many others.
James Siarris earned his Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Houston in Houston, Texas, and his undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
